A Wild Finish, A Guy Standing on a Station Platform
in the Rain with a Comical Look on His Face Because His Insides
Have Been Kicked Out -- The band, a guitar and drum combo,
hijacks Songbook Standards from the days of B&W and
refashions
them with deep-tuned up-flanged guitars, punkin' brushstrokes on
the drums, and rolling vocal melodies. Formed in Boston in
August 2005, the duo features David G [scuba] on guitar and Tisket [miles from land, the non-famous, the occasion (denver)] on
the kit. Their
book is culled from classics written from the 1910's through the
1950's (Dietrich, Armstrong, Sinatra, Joplin). New
alt-rock music is scored around the lyrics, pulling unforseen
miles of post-modern anomie from those
old rugged engines. The band ripped their official,
distended name
from a Casablanca syllogism, but they readily respond to "A
Wild Finish, [Etc]" for your convenience.
